What the Four Bowls Sound Like Together

C4 is a steady place to begin.

Add G4 and the sound immediately feels wider.

Bring in E4 and the middle begins to fill out. The combination becomes fuller, but the notes still remain easy to distinguish.

Then B4 changes the upper part of the set.

Without B4, C4, E4 and G4 already sound familiar and complete. When B4 is added, the sound does not settle quite as quickly. There is a little more space above the main harmony.

This works especially well with alchemy bowls because of their longer sustain.

While C4, E4 and G4 are still ringing underneath, B4 can remain clearly present above them. The result is open and balanced, but not static.

Each bowl has a clear role, and the sound continues to move even when all four notes are sustaining together.

Why C4 – E4 – G4 – B4?

C4, E4 and G4 form a C major chord.

Adding B4 creates a C Major 7 harmony.

The chord name is not the important part. What matters is what you hear.

The first three notes sound settled and familiar. B4 keeps the upper part of the combination slightly more open.

That small change gives the set more room when the bowls are allowed to sustain into one another.

Because all four bowls stay within the fourth octave, the overall range also remains consistent.

There is enough distance between the notes to create layers, but no single bowl sits dramatically below the others.

These four notes were selected to work together, so you can move between simple pairings, three-bowl combinations and the full four-bowl harmony without having to find matching notes yourself.
